The Power of Negativity


It may surprise you to know that power travels on the negative. Yes, you read correctly – negatively charged electrons travel to the positive. Without the charge of negative electrons, there would be no power. The first time I heard this, I didn’t believe it, so I did my own research, and indeed, the person who shared this with me is correct.

There are two types of currents: AC and DC. In Direct Current, the power flows only from negative to positive. In Alternating Current, the power flows back and forth between positive and negative. But, why am I explaining this to you?

Without the negativity, there would be no flow of power. Oh, I could shout right here! When haters come upon you and speak death and destruction over you, don't hate them for hating. Thank them for the power that they just gave to you. In a Direct Current, the positive does not move, it only consumes the power from the negative charge. God said that He would make your enemies your footstool. He also said that He would prepare a table for you in front of your enemies. Without your haters, you would never know your power (and neither would they). When negativity attacks your Mind, be steadfast.

Now you may be thinking, What do I do with that negative power when it hits me? You transform it of course. And, this is where it gets really good! The human body is a constant flow of negative and positive energy. This is the Alternating Current that I mentioned above. The positive in you, the Christ in you, receives the negative energy and reflects your positive energy right back to it! That’s right, you are a POWER plant, but you’ve got to know what to do with that power. When negativity is pushed towards you, suck it up and respond with positive power. It seems difficult to do, doesn’t it?

That’s because the thing that I haven’t dropped on you yet, is that the positive end of a battery isn’t called the positive terminal because there is a positive charge. It’s called the positive terminal because it is hooked up to a positive potential that creates the power. Spiritually speaking, you are a vessel that is constantly under assault by negativity because you live in a sinful world. BUT GOD, you are connected to a positive potential that creates the power in you! THIS is the difference between you and the world that you live in. Greater is He (the power) that is in YOU than he that is in the world (negativity, sin, fear, depression). As long as you stay connected to your power source you will be the Alternating Current that takes the negativity, transforms it, and sends the positive power back into the world.

Today’s post is a bit cerebral, but you’ve got to get this on a basic level. God created us to take dominion over this world and to do that we must stay connected to Him. Trials may come, stay connected to Him. Pain may come, stay connected to Him. Sickness may come, stay connected to Him. You lost your job, stay connected to Him. You were assaulted, stay connected to Him. You’re going through a divorce, stay connected to Him.

The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. And he will succeed IFF you let him. Jesus came to give you life more abundantly. He has all power in His hands. So, the next time a hater appears in your life. Say a little prayer and thank God. No enemies, no footstool. No enemies, no feast in your life. No enemies, no power. A hater is your confirmation that you are on the right path. Use their negativity to increase your power and to propel you into your destiny.

Your Mind, Body, and Spirit compose a vessel full of power. What you choose to do with that power is up to you.

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed,” (2 Corinthians 4:7-9 NIV).
